About Cruise Ports Guide
We’re Martin and Mandy, a married couple from Blackpool who got into cruising a few years before Covid shut everything down — and got hooked.
This site exists because of Mandy. She always does the research on where we’re going; Martin finds the cruises; between us we decide what we’ll actually do on a port day. The problem was the research itself — out-of-date pages, sites that were hard to use, nowhere she could read a clear plan and book the trips directly from what she’d found. The advice that did work came from fellow cruisers and friends. So Martin built this site to fix that, and keeps it running.
Who’s behind this
Martin spent years in the industry helping small and large businesses get found online and put genuinely useful information in front of people. Mandy runs a curtain and upholstery business — travel is the welcome break from the sewing machine. With a grandchild now in the picture, we just want to be travelling more, with family and without.
We’re not a content farm. We’re two real cruisers building the planning resource we wished we’d had.
How our guides are made
Our guides are built using the best of modern AI research tools, then checked and shaped by us. We’d rather be open about that than pretend otherwise — getting it right matters more than hiding how it’s done.
Help us make it better
Feedback is the heart of this. If you’ve been somewhere and we missed something — a better route into town, a closed attraction, a tip that saved your day — tell us. We’ll work it into the guide, and almost certainly onto our socials too. The site gets better every time a real cruiser tells us what we got wrong.
Affiliate disclosure
Cruise Ports Guide is reader-supported. Some links to tours, transfers and local experiences are affiliate links — if you book through them we may earn a small commission, at no extra cost to you. It never changes what we recommend.
